First of all, please know one thing.

The purpose of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale is to make the conditions of sale clear, to comply with the applicable legal framework, and above all to make sure that you know exactly what you are agreeing to before purchasing a service, programme, masterclass or therapeutic process from REAL THERAPY.

These terms are not here to make the work colder.

They are here to make the frame clear.

Designation

REAL THERAPY is the online psychotherapy and coaching practice of Gijs van Breugel.

Gijs van Breugel is based in Rouen, Normandy, France, and provides online psychotherapy, coaching, therapeutic programmes, masterclasses and related online services to clients internationally.

In the following paragraphs, the following terms shall apply:

REAL THERAPY: the online psychotherapy and coaching practice operated by Gijs van Breugel.

Practitioner: Gijs van Breugel.

Client: any natural or legal person who purchases, registers for, books, or orders a service, programme, masterclass, therapeutic process or online product from REAL THERAPY.

Participant: any natural person who participates in a masterclass, online programme, therapeutic process, workspace or service offered by REAL THERAPY.

Services: all psychotherapy, coaching, online programmes, masterclasses, digital workspaces, therapeutic content, written reflections, audio or video materials, live sessions and related support provided by REAL THERAPY.

GTC: these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

ARTICLE 1: PURPOSE

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale define the rights and obligations of the parties in the context of the online sale of services offered by REAL THERAPY.

They apply to all purchases, registrations, bookings and orders made through the REAL THERAPY website, by email, through an online payment link, via a third-party platform, by social media message, or by any other means of communication.

ARTICLE 2: GENERAL PROVISIONS AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply automatically to all services offered by REAL THERAPY, including but not limited to:

  • online psychotherapy;

  • online coaching;

  • therapeutic programmes;

  • live masterclasses;

  • digital therapeutic workspaces;

  • online therapeutic content;

  • written, audio or video guidance;

  • individual sessions;

  • structured online therapeutic processes.

Any purchase, registration, booking or order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

The Client confirms that they have read and understood these terms before making a payment or registering for a paid service.

REAL THERAPY reserves the right to modify these General Terms and Conditions of Sale at any time. The applicable terms are those in force at the time of purchase.

ARTICLE 3: NATURE OF THE SERVICES

REAL THERAPY provides online psychotherapy, coaching, therapeutic programmes, masterclasses and related support.

The exact nature, duration, structure, price and access conditions of each service are specified on the relevant sales page, registration page, checkout page, written proposal, email or payment page.

Depending on the service purchased, the work may include:

  • live online sessions;

  • structured therapeutic processes;

  • guided reflections;

  • online workspace access;

  • audio or video materials;

  • written therapeutic guidance;

  • therapist review;

  • limited written contact;

  • masterclasses;

  • integration or closing reflections;

  • other resources described at the time of purchase.

REAL THERAPY does not provide emergency care, crisis intervention, medical diagnosis, psychiatric treatment, or any service intended to replace urgent medical or psychiatric support.

If the Client is in immediate danger, at risk of harming themselves or others, or in a medical or psychiatric emergency, they must contact the emergency services or a crisis service in their country.

ARTICLE 4: PRICE

The prices are indicated in Euros and include all applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

The price of each service is clearly specified before purchase on the relevant sales page, checkout page, payment link, email or written proposal.

The price may vary depending on the type of service, programme, duration, access level, individual support, masterclass or therapeutic process purchased.

The price includes only the services explicitly described at the time of purchase.

Any service not expressly included is excluded.

ARTICLE 5: PURCHASE

Any order or purchase made through a website, payment page, checkout page, email exchange, online platform, social media message or direct payment link belonging to or used by REAL THERAPY implies full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

The Client is responsible for checking that the selected service corresponds to their needs before making payment.

ARTICLE 6: INVOICING AND PAYMENT

Invoices issued by REAL THERAPY are payable immediately unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Payment is required before access to the service, programme, masterclass, online workspace or therapeutic process is granted.

Payment may be made by card through Stripe, by bank transfer, or by any other payment method made available by REAL THERAPY.

The validity period of any offer, access, price, discount, payment plan or specific condition is stated on the relevant communication channel.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the rights granted under these terms are personal to the Client or Participant and may not be transferred to another person.

ARTICLE 7: ACCESS TO ONLINE SERVICES

The Client is responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary technical equipment to access the online services provided by REAL THERAPY.

This may include:

  • a computer, tablet or smartphone;

  • a stable internet connection;

  • access to email;

  • access to Zoom or any other video platform used;

  • access to the relevant digital workspace where applicable;

  • the ability to read, write, listen to audio, watch video and complete online reflections where required.

REAL THERAPY cannot be held responsible for technical difficulties caused by the Client’s equipment, internet connection, software, email settings, device limitations or inability to use the relevant platform.

Where appropriate, reasonable technical guidance may be provided within the limits of the service purchased.

ARTICLE 8: DELIVERY OF SERVICES

Services are delivered online.

For live sessions, masterclasses or appointments, the Client is responsible for attending at the agreed time.

For online programmes or digital workspaces, access conditions and duration are specified at the time of purchase.

For structured therapeutic programmes, the Client understands that the effectiveness of the process depends partly on their own participation, regularity, attention and engagement.

REAL THERAPY does not guarantee a specific emotional, therapeutic, psychological, financial or personal result.

The work is structured, serious and therapeutic, but the outcome depends on the Client’s personal situation, history, engagement and circumstances.

ARTICLE 9: RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL, CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

9.1 Right of withdrawal

Where applicable under French and European consumer law, the Client may have a legal right of withdrawal for a period of 14 days from the conclusion of the contract.

To exercise this right, the Client must notify REAL THERAPY of their decision to withdraw by means of a clear and unambiguous statement sent by email to:

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for the Client to send their request before the expiry of the 14-day withdrawal period.

9.2 Exception to the right of withdrawal

In accordance with applicable consumer law, the right of withdrawal may not apply where the service has begun before the end of the withdrawal period with the Client’s express consent and acknowledgement that they thereby waive their right of withdrawal.

This may apply, in particular, to immediate access to digital content, online workspaces, downloadable material, live sessions or therapeutic services that have already begun.

9.3 Refund conditions

Refund conditions may vary depending on the service purchased.

Where a specific guarantee, safety period or refund condition applies to a programme or service, it will be clearly stated on the relevant sales page, checkout page, payment page or written communication.

In the absence of a specific written guarantee, no refund is due once the service has begun, access has been granted, a live session has taken place, or digital content has been made available, except where required by applicable law.

9.4 Cancellation by REAL THERAPY

If REAL THERAPY is unable to provide a service, in whole or in part, the amounts paid may be refunded in proportion to the services not provided.

REAL THERAPY shall not be liable in cases of force majeure, technical failure outside its control, platform failure, internet outage, illness, or any event preventing the normal delivery of the service.

Where possible, REAL THERAPY may offer a rescheduled session, alternative date, credit or refund depending on the situation.

ARTICLE 10: PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

In accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the French Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation, the Client has the right to access, rectify, delete and object to the processing of their personal data, subject to applicable legal limits.

Personal data may be collected for the purpose of:

  • managing purchases;

  • delivering services;

  • sending access links;

  • communicating with Clients;

  • providing therapeutic or coaching support;

  • managing invoices;

  • sending emails related to the service;

  • complying with legal obligations.

ARTICLE 11: CONFIDENTIALITY

REAL THERAPY treats the personal information shared by Clients and Participants with care and confidentiality.

For therapeutic services, confidentiality applies within the limits of the law and professional obligations.

Confidentiality may be limited where there is a serious risk of harm to the Client, another person, or where disclosure is required by law.

Online communication, email, digital workspaces and video platforms involve technical systems operated by third-party providers. REAL THERAPY takes reasonable care when selecting and using such systems, but cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality over systems outside its direct control.

ARTICLE 12: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

12.1. The trademarks, logos, documents, studies, domain names, images, videos, texts, audio recordings, written materials, methodologies, therapeutic frameworks, programme structures, digital content and, more generally, any other information subject to intellectual property rights in connection with REAL THERAPY’s services are and remain the exclusive property of REAL THERAPY and/or Gijs van Breugel.

12.2. No transfer of intellectual property rights is made through these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

12.3. The Client acknowledges and accepts that all materials, methods, frameworks, written content, audio content, video content, exercises, reflections and programme structures provided by REAL THERAPY are protected by intellectual property rights.

12.4. The Client may not reproduce, copy, distribute, share, sell, teach, publish, transmit, adapt, translate, record, upload or make available to third parties any content provided by REAL THERAPY without prior written authorisation.

12.5. Access to any programme, workspace, masterclass, recording or material is strictly personal.

12.6. REAL THERAPY reserves the right to oppose, stop and seek compensation for any use of its intellectual property rights which it considers to be infringing, unfair, parasitic, harmful to its image, or contrary to rights it has granted.

ARTICLE 13: CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

The Client is responsible for their own participation, attendance, technical access, communication and engagement with the service purchased.

The Client understands that therapeutic or coaching work can bring emotional material into awareness.

The Client remains responsible for seeking emergency, medical, psychiatric or crisis support where necessary.

The Client agrees not to use REAL THERAPY services as a substitute for emergency care, medical treatment, psychiatric treatment, or crisis support.

ARTICLE 14: APPLICABLE LAW

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale, as well as all purchase and sale transactions referred to herein, are governed by French law.

In the event of disagreement, and failing an amicable resolution, the competent courts shall be those determined under applicable French law.

ARTICLE 15: MEDIATION

In accordance with Article L. 612-1 of the French Consumer Code, the consumer, subject to Article L.612-2 of the French Consumer Code, has the right to submit a request for amicable resolution by mediation within a period of less than one year from their written complaint to the professional.

To refer the matter to the mediator, the consumer must submit their request according to the procedures indicated by the appointed mediation body.

The request must include:

  • the consumer’s postal address, telephone number and email address;

  • the name and address of the professional concerned;

  • a brief statement of the facts;

  • what the consumer expects from the mediation and why;

  • a copy of the prior written complaint;

  • any documents allowing the request to be examined, such as order form, invoice, proof of payment, etc.
